其实回忆片段还挺有喜感，但剪辑痕迹就不应该了。

画质差到看不清楚字，也不怎么好笑。
相当难看了，回忆段落冗长乏味。但是大段回忆似乎在卓别林早期是挺罕见的手法。
画家喝了两杯酒，谈起伤心往事，一时耍起了醉拳，还在地上画了张笑脸
卓别林第一回正儿八经的严肃剧，还涉及了不同时空的穿插，然而无论是效果还是笑果还不如落水**丢东西。
卓别林第一部严肃片，并运用了闪回手法。弃以往之疯笨诙谐，饰演一个为情所抛的落魄画家，即使结尾加入了一贯的斗架场景，但是却无不透露着一种悲剧苍凉的味调，要记得，即使生活再down，醉得浑倒在地，也不要忘了随手在地上画一个大大的笑脸^_
酒馆打斗太突兀，往昔回忆也没什么趣味。最扰人的一点，作为一部默剧，中插字幕太*繁。
一点都不好笑不说，情节也上有断裂
